SANTA FE COUNTY SHERIFF'S POSSE, our mission:
We are volunteer men and women who train for and conduct mounted (horseback) search and rescue (SAR) missions in and near Santa Fe County, New Mexico, on request by the New Mexico State Police. We are a recognized SAR team.
Although sometimes we do assist the Santa Fe County Sheriff's Department with public events, we are not law enforcement officers nor deputies.
Our members include both professional and vocational horsemen and women with a range of training and experience related to mounted search and rescue (MSAR). Most of our SAR missions are in backcountry or wilderness areas.
MEETINGS:
Meetings are held on the 1st Wednesday of each month, at 7pm at the Posse Grounds.
LOCATION: 3213 Rodeo Road
We are located on the right, front corner, of The Santa Fe Rodeo Grounds, (The drive way, to the right of the entrance to The Genoveva Chavez Community Center). Look for a black fence with our name over the entrance.
